VERBUND Green Power has signed a multi-year framework agreement with the Nordex Group to secure up to 700 MW of onshore wind turbine capacity.The deal supports VERBUND’s expanding wind project pipeline across Europe.
The agreement was signed in Madrid by Dietmar Reiner,Managing Director of VERBUND Green Power and JoséLuis Blanco,CEO of the Nordex Group.It runs through 2030 and covers cooperation on future wind developments.
Under the framework,up to 105 Nordex onshore wind turbines could be supplied for projects in Austria,Germany,Spain,Italy,Romania and Albania.
The potential capacity represents around 50%of VERBUND Green Power’s current wind project pipeline.
VERBUND Group,traditionally strong in hydropower,is accelerating investment in wind and solar aiming to reach 25%of total generation by 2030.
The companies noted the partnership builds on a first Nordex turbine order for VERBUND in Romania placed at the end of last year.
